KASEY TAYLOR & CHRIS MEEHAN
Parallel Reflection
Side A :: Original Mix
Side B :: Katai Dub
Released :: September 2004
Reference :: FEED004

‘The fourth offering from Portugal's Feed Me Records follows on from the impressive Filur ? Kiwi Mint Pilot release. It comes from Australian duo Kasey Taylor and Chris Meehan. The two of them have teamed up to produce quite a lot of original material this year, some released on Kasey's own Vapour label. The end result in this case, "Parallel Reflection", nourishing the ever-growing palette of productions on Feed Me Records.

ORIGINAL MIX The original is a sizzling slice of well-produced progressive house. Warm, deep, emotive and atmospheric, this track has got all the right ingredients. Slowly building and evolving, the main melody eventually comes in before fully expanding into life in the breakdown.

KATAI DUB MIX The Katai dub on the flip takes the tempo up a notch, presenting a pumping, energetic and darker interpretation right from the off. Just like Krakatoa this mix erupts into life, outpouring plenty of drive, power and funk throughout. This will ensure it will leave an imprint on the dancefloor.

JAPAN’S DJ 19

"‘Love the original mix with its lovely chords’"

"Soothing pads mesh with melancholy leads as they wrap around Balearic percussion creating a beautiful sound-scape for the tortured soul. Almost therapeutic, it's something for the easy and chill or the tamer opening sets. Either way, it's a pleasure for the ears.

"How the hell did I go for two months without hearing this beauty? I’m luv’in this track and you will too. Crown programming and production skills from both Taylor and Meehan that showcases what both men are all about. Glowing melodies swim across the shore, but it’s the entire whole that should not be ignored. Are you a DJ, got a vinyl turntable? Like music (particularly the deeper kind)? Then you must find a copy of this! 10/10."

Chris Cargo

"Deep and Cool, Keep it up guys!"

France’s Julien Roby

"Feed Me providing the goods once again! Another deep affair from Kasey Taylor that I really like! Subtil melodic parts... but the remix on the BSide does it all! A sub-bass groove to die for, melted with some parts of the original melodies... All this sounds come so well together that you have no chance to escape this track. A perfect journey that will surely highlight my next sets! 5/5

It's easy to draw a parallel reflection to Euro 04 for this release: bright, fun and without doubt worth the admission price. With the dazzlingly deep original and the monstrous Katai dub, this melodic release will blow you and the crowd away.

Feed Me serve up another high-valued hand, making it four of a (quality) kind. The way they are heading, I can easily see them making it a royal flush with the next release.
