Kasey Taylor, founder of Vapour recordings, is one of Australia ’s most respected DJ's and has made his mark on a worldwide scale with a heavy workload of production and remixes. Beginning DJ'ing at the age of 13, he has progressed to work at most of Melbourne 's big clubs and parties. In particular, lovers of the tribal house to deep and hard underground sound fondly remember the time he spent rocking Melbourne ’s Mansion club. During Kasey's stint there, the club played host to most of the worlds leading DJ's with the likes of Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold and Anthony Pappa to name a few, and it was also voted one of the best clubs in the world by Ministry Magazine. He’s supported at all the major clubbing events in his hometown of Melbourne , including brand name tours like Renaissance, Global Underground, Slinky etc. As well as Australia ’s own brands Two Tribes and Summadayze, which are held on the F1 Grand Prix weekend and New Years day respectively every year.

When Kasey starting exploring production in the early 90’s, his first experience in the studio was with Quench. He then moved on after the first single titled “Feel my Love” to form Our House in partnership with Melbourne DJ Sean Quinn. The guys were signed to Dancenet/MDS in Australia and to Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto label in the UK . They came to Paul's attention after he heard their debut single “Floorspace” at a Perfecto party in Melbourne where they played together. He snapped the track up on the spot and the success of “Floorspace” led to several remixing options for acts signed to Perfecto like Virus and Juno Reactor, along with remixes for other high profile labels as well.

Kasey’s solo work started in early 97 and at the same time he decided to set up his recording outlet, Vapour Recordings. The roster has some exciting artists such as Ocean Wave, Luke Chable, Nu Breed, Jerry Bonham, Chris Micali, Sumantri and Highland to name a few. The label now has its 30 th release out and loads of exciting new releases in the pipeline. You’ll also find his productions have featured on most major compilations like Global Underground, Renaissance etc, and he has remixed for many labels as well including Bedrock, EQ Recordings, SOG Recordings, Rhythm Syndicate, Forged, Quad Communications, Fade and many more...

He also records under the names of Katai, and Blakstone collectively with Andy Jarrod. Andy is is the man behind 3 Beat label management in the UK , the company that’s looks after all of Vapours releases. Kasey has also teamed up with one of Australia ’s risings stars, Chris Meehan. The two have produced a lot or original material together with a couple of remixes on the way as well, keep your eyes out in 2004 for these two.

So as you can see, Kasey is at the forefront of the Australian dance music scene. He’s DJ'ing is very much in demand with regular gigs in Australia and all over the world, with the most recent gigs being abroad in places like, Portugal, Turkey, Scandinavia, America and Asia.

He co-presented a radio show with Sean Quinn on Kiss FM in Melbourne , when the station was broadcasting test transmissions in the hope for a full time license. He has also done two 1-hour mixes for John Digweed’s Kiss 100 radio show, along with a couple of DJ slots at his Bedrock night in London.
